Requests

Requests capture work intake inside a Project without turning every request into a task immediately.

Submitting A Request

Every active member with Project access can submit a Request as themselves. Request submission does not grant task creation or management access.

A Request can include:

  • title
  • rich-text description
  • priority
  • optional desired date
  • optional original attachments

The requester can correct the title, description, priority, and desired date for 15 minutes after submission while the Request remains open. Original submission attachments remain fixed.

Interrupted Submissions

If an upload or confirmation is interrupted, use Retry or Resume submission on the existing Request. After a reload, you may need to select the same missing original files again. Recovery continues the same Request without creating a duplicate or changing its original attachment set.

Managers can resolve or cancel a Request only after submission finishes.

Request Status

Requests use these statuses:

  • Open for new Requests awaiting a response
  • Resolved when a manager records the resolution
  • Cancelled when a manager cancels the Request

Resolve Request and Cancel Request each require a message and confirmation. Managers can reopen a Cancelled Request with a message; Resolved Requests remain resolved. Request archiving is unavailable.

Managers can change priority on a submitted Open Request. That change appears in Activity. Priority is read-only after resolution or cancellation.

Discussion

Requests support comments, mentions, attachments, notification subscriptions, links, and private manager Journal entries. Authorized discussion continues after resolution or cancellation, alongside the recorded response and outcome history.

Manager Outcomes

After resolving a Request, managers can finish without creating work, or choose Create New or Link to for one Task, Project, Opportunity, or Package. Tasks and Packages must belong to the current Project; Projects and Opportunities must belong to the current Space. Normal creation and access permissions still apply.

Linking preserves the Request and target as separate records. Readers see the target link only when they can access it.

Creating A Task

Task creation can carry the Request title, priority, desired date, and selected original attachments. The manager chooses the Section, assignee, due date, and status, and can create a Section if needed. The new task description starts blank; the Request retains its original description and history.

If task creation or attachment copying is interrupted, retry the existing creation with its saved choices. The Request remains Resolved while the follow-up finishes. The task remains unavailable for editing until creation completes. If another new outcome cannot be linked, retry linking that existing result instead of creating it again.
